Something I did like to read, though, was about her struggles with Julia. As a character, she became a bit too perfect, which doesn’t necessarily make it all too interesting to read. I could relate to Hadassah’s struggles in the previous book, but it got harder in this one.

And that journey led him into actually finding God. It was interesting how he wanted to prove Hadassah right but wrong at the same time. There was just something about seeing his journey from beginning to end. I’m not going to deny it, but Marcus was my favorite character out of the whole series. All the character struggles were personal yet interconnected at the same time.

I mean, Hadassah got thrown into the lion’s den, Marcus actually got mad and abandoned his sister, Julia was corrupted by her so-called “friends” and made Hadassah go into the arena, and Atretes was just mad at the world in general.
